ORE CITY - Big Sandy opened District 18-2A with a three-game sweep of Ore City Tuesday night.
The Lady Wildcats defeated Ore City 25-15, 25-12, 25-6 - a lot in thanks to Jenna Rushing’s 10 aces and eight kills. Candace Dunn recorded eight aces and six kills and Jazz Montgomery had three kills.
Kaila Johnson paced Big Sandy in assists with 12.
Whitehouse 3, Kilgore 0
WHITEHOUSE - Brittani Toole recorded 20 kills and eight digs to lift Whitehouse to a 25-19, 25-8, 25-13 sweep of Kilgore Tuesday night in a District 12-4A volleyball match.
Brittany Jordan paced Whitehouse with 24 service points, nine digs and four aces, while teammate Jordan Knight had 18 service points, 10 digs and five aces. Melany Perez finished with 21 assists in the win.
The Whitehouse junior varsity beat Kilgore 25-15, 25-15, and the freshmen also won 25-8, 25-12.
Whitehouse (12-5, 1-0) will entertain Nacogdoches at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
