On the mornings of June 14, 15,& 16, it seemed that the Whitehouse Police Department thought it would be a good idea to have firearms training starting a 4:30 AM. Just outside of Whitehouse city limits where 2 main residential neighborhoods that are within a mile of their training/exercise location. Whoever organized this needs to be considerate of what time exactly they have these exercises. For 3 mornings in a row, sounds of multiple gun shots could be heard at 4:30 AM lasting 2 to 3 hours. I called the police department and they confirmed the Whitehouse police department had received new assault rifles and this was the only time they could have these exercises. They also said they were to start at 5:30 AM. This was not the case. For all 3 mornings, you could hear them start firing at 4:30 AM. The police department also mentioned they have another firearms training exercise starting within the next week or two. It would make since to have these firing exercises after 7 AM or later in the day.

Whitehouse PD, this message is for you…Please be considerate of others around you that have to work during the day and that need to get their sleep. Put yourself in someone elses shoes and stop thinking about what is best for you at the moment. Would you want a group of people shooting firearms outside your house within a mile or less of your home for 3 hours in the morning when it is your sleeping time? Also, considering picking another location to have these exercises. You have to consider that Whitehouse is a growing community and the times are changing so the City departments need to plan accordingly and take in consideration where and when they plan to have any functions similar to this. I know I am speaking for others that have experienced this rude awakening that this was not a very planned activity to have firearms exercises at 5:30 AM much less starting before that at 4:30 AM. This just goes to show the Whitehouse’s Local Government doesn’t care about their citizens but only about themselves. I am a new resident in this community and so far I am not very pleased with the local Government. The local Government lacks in many areas. I hear a lot a talk about the future growth of our City and nothing ever happens. But this is another story…
