Men Soccer Team Began District At Corsicana
The Whitehouse boys soccer team began district play Tuesday with an impressive 5-2 win over Corsicana at Tiger Stadium.
Whitehouse (5-2, 1-0) trailed 1-0 early on, but responded with an equalizer from Steven Hicks. Alonzo Gutierrez gave the Wildcats a 2-1 lead at halftime.
Whitehouse made it 3-1 early in the second half on a goal by Blain Greer, thanks to a deep throw in from Paul Metzner.
Hicks then grabbed his second goal of the game to make it 4-1 and Dayton Longfellow struck home the fifth goal on a cross from Chris Carter. Corsicana grabbed a consolation goal off a penalty kick late to make the final, 5-2.
The Whitehouse JV also defeated Corsicana, using an own-goal from the Tigers for a 1-0 win.
